Cities and states mull new taxes on wages, homes, cigarettes amid huge COVID budget deficits squib
States are considering taxes on cigarettes and property, or on tech giants, as a way of compensating for COVID. State budget deficits are expected to reach $209 billion in the 2021 fiscal year.
